Steps may differ depending on the position, but this is our usual hiring process.
We’ll tell you about the role and MacPaw and ask you to tell us about your experience and aspirations.
This step may include additional interviews and/or test tasks to figure out whether your skills match the requirements for the role.

Our Talent Acquisition team usually replies within 3-4 working days. If the team gets behind with it, they will surely let you know about it.
Our hiring process usually consists of the following steps:
1. We are reviewing your CV to decide whether our roles are suitable for your future professional development or if there will be some roles to offer you.
2. Brief screening call with our Talent Acquisition Team as a preliminary step to better get to know you and your background.
3. Test task (offline home assignment/online case study) for you to understand typical tasks in your future role.
4. Technical Interview with a team to meet with your future peers and discuss the tech side of the vacant role you’re interested in.
5. Managerial Interview with Talent Acquisition and C-level team to dive deeper into your leadership background.
6. Final HR+Lead Interview with the Talent Acquisition team and your future Direct Manager to understand whether our core culture and values align with your vision.
7. Reference check.
The quantity and order of steps usually depend on the seniority and peculiarities of the role, and we are letting you know about them in the first call so you can be aligned from the very start.
We try to keep in touch with our candidates at all times. We have a rule that after each stage, we take 2-3 working days to come back with feedback.
If we are late with feedback, the recruiter will always write to you and let you know.
Whether to work remotely or at the hub is entirely up to you. If you decide to mix it, our Kyiv headquarters (HQ), which works as a coworking space, is open around the clock.
We also rent space in the Promprylad Coworking in Ivano-Frankivsk and reimburse the costs of renting a coworking space in any other city.
You can choose a schedule that is comfortable for you. No one here tracks your clock in/clock out because MacPaw is built on trust and cooperation.
However, your main working hours have to cross the main time schedule of your team (for meetings or other cross-team tasks).
Briefly, yes, there are :) Every position has a clear description of its responsibilities and necessary professional competencies. The company provides a range of instruments and possibilities for your growth (annual development reviews, PDP, education budget, English classes, etc. We also offer personal coaching with organizational coaches). Also, we have annual salary reviews based on personal growth and market changes.
We fully adapted our onboarding process for remote newcomers. You are free to choose how you would like to spend your first day, whether at our Kyiv office or at home (especially if you are currently located in another city or country). We make sure to provide you with all the necessary equipment and access to work before your first day, no matter where you are, to make your onboarding smooth and straightforward. Also, during your first month, you will attend onboarding meetings to support your adaptation process within the company.
Regularity and consistency is a key. We have a monthly company digest with the selection of the most important company-wide news and events for the past month and regular, more specified ones like Engineering digest digests from our product teams or coaches. Every Friday, we have a weekly wrap-up of the most significant events, meetings, and news. Every month, we hold a Q&A Session with our CEO and Executive Team (ET), and every quarter, we have a Company Update where CEO, ET, and Product Leads share results, updates, and plans in their directions.
Our everyday communication we maintain in Slack. We do have channels that we consider of utter importance where there is crucial information about the company and some hobby-related ones.
We keep all the company documentation on Confluence.
Well, it depends. We have small teams (like 3-5 people in it) and big ones (like 15 people in).
If it is a product team, you will be a part of a cross-functional team. It’s hard to answer about the possibility of a similar position. It can be yes and no :)
If it is an existing service, you definitely will join a team with a similar position specialist.
