Configure Application Updates automation
(Updated: )CleanMyMac Business lets you set up Application Updates automation tasks to run regular scans on devices enrolled in your Organization. This helps keep apps up to date, improving both functionality and security.
You can create as many Application Updates automation tasks as you need—each with its own settings to suit different scenarios.
To configure an Application Updates automation task:
Sign in to your Owner or Admin account in the Admin Dashboard, then go to Automation.
On the Automation page, click Add New Automation in the upper-right corner and choose Application Updates.
If you don't have any automation tasks configured yet, you can also click Add New Automation in the center and choose Application Updates.
The task settings open.
In the task settings, configure the following:
Name—A descriptive name to help you differentiate automation tasks. Visible only to Admins.
Start date and time—Date and time when the task should start. This is tied to the time zone of the person creating the task.
Repeat interval—How often the task repeats (every 7, 14, or 30 days).
Forced execution day and time—Day and time when the task should run on user devices if they skip it. Available options depend on the selected repeat interval.
Reminders—Number of notifications (0, 1, or 2) sent before the task is executed automatically.
Ignored apps—Specify any apps you don't want to update. Enter an app name or its bundle ID, then choose it from the list of apps registered in your Organization.
NoteAfter you create the task, you won't be able to edit the start date and time or the repeat interval. To change these, you'll need to create and configure a new task.
If you already have other Application Updates automation tasks configured, their basic details will appear in the Your Active Automations section on the right.
Click Save Automation to create the task.
To cancel without saving, click Close at the bottom, the Close icon (
) at the top, or press the Esc (Escape) key.
The task will now appear in the relevant widget, ready to run with the settings you configured.
